「スタッフって年上の親切な友だち」
４回目の今回はスタッフ原野から、体験を中心にフリースクールでのスタッフと子どもたちの関係についてお届けします。
清水公園のアスレチックで
一番右が原野です。
フリースクールのスタッフは、とてもたくさん子どもとしゃべります。
お話だけでなく、同じ時間を共有する中でその子が何が好きで、何が嫌いなのか、どういうことで悩んでいて、どういう望みを持っているのか、自然とわかってきます。
そしてそれは、カウンセリングや相談という一対一でじっくり話す時間というよりも、もっと何気ない時間の積み重ねです。
４年生の時に不登校になってから通っていた適応指導教室には、担当の先生との相談の時間がありました。
ですが、その相談で話したことよりも、テーブルを囲んでみんなで雑談したことの方が、記憶として残っています。
お昼ご飯を食べながらおしゃべり中～
前回、おびっちゃんから「スタッフはすごーく年上で親切な友だち」という例えがありましたね。
ある日、流山シューレで初等部の女の子と心理ゲームで遊んでいるときに、「なんでも頼れる友だち」の欄におびっちゃんの名前があり、「一緒に遊びたい友だち」の欄に私の名前がありました。
本人も「当たってる～当たってる～」と言っていたので、まさに、スタッフのことを「年上の親切な友だち」だと思っているんだなあと感じました。
中学校の臨時採用教員の経験があるのですが、その時は子どもと遊んだり、１時間でも２時間でも他愛もない話をする時間はありませんでした。
学校の先生は、締め切りに追われることが多すぎて、なんでもない時間を子どもと一緒に過ごすことが難しいのです。
子どもの話をじっくりきけるという点も、フリースクールにいじめがなく、ストレス度が低い理由になるのではないでしょうか。
